Hello friends, today we are talking about a very important topic – CBSE Board Exam Result 2025. The exams for Class 10 and Class 12 are now over, and students are waiting for their results. Many students and parents are worried and excited at the same time. Especially Class 10 students are now asking, “When will the result come?”
This year, more than 42 lakh students gave the CBSE Board Exams. Out of them, 24.12 lakh students gave the Class 10 exam, which was held from 15 February to 18 March 2025. The CBSE Class 12 exams have just finished. So now the board will soon give updates about Class 10 result.
When Will Class 10 Result Come?
Right now, CBSE has not told the exact date of the result. But if we look at the old years, we can guess that the result may come within 1 month after the exam ends. So, Class 10 result may come in April or early May 2025.
Once the result is declared, students can check their marks on CBSE’s official websites:
-
cbse.gov.in
-
results.cbse.nic.in
Students will need to enter their roll number, date of birth, and school code to check their marks.
How Many Marks Are Needed to Pass?
To pass the exam, every student must get at least 33% marks in each subject. If a student gets less marks in just 1 or 2 subjects, the board may give grace marks. This means if someone gets 1-2 marks less, CBSE can help them pass by adding some marks.
But if the student fails badly, then they may have to give compartment exam or even repeat the year. So it is important to take all subjects seriously.
How Was the Result in Past Years?
To know what we can expect this year, let’s see the pass percentage of last 5 years for Class 10 and 12 students:
Year | Class 10 Pass % | Class 12 Pass % |
---|---|---|
2024 | 93.60% | 87.98% |
2023 | 93.12% | 87.33% |
2022 | 94.40% | 92.71% |
2021 | 99.04% | 99.37% |
2020 | 91.46% | 88.78% |
As you can see, in 2021 the result was very high because there was no regular exam due to COVID-19, and students were passed based on internal marks. That’s why that year’s result was almost 99%.
But in normal years, the Class 10 pass percentage is around 93%, and for Class 12, it is around 87-88%. So, we can expect similar results in 2025 also.
What to Do After Class 10 Result?
After the Class 10 result, students have to choose their stream for Class 11 and 12. There are three main streams:
-
Science – For students who want to become doctors, engineers, scientists, etc.
-
Commerce – For students who want to become CA, business person, banker, etc.
-
Arts/Humanities – For students who want to study history, geography, languages, journalism, law, etc.
Students should think carefully and talk to their parents and teachers before choosing the stream. Don’t just follow your friends. Choose what you are interested in and what suits your future dream.
How to Prepare for the Future?
After the result, life doesn’t stop. It is just the beginning. Students should start preparing for Class 11 or for entrance exams if they have a goal like JEE, NEET, CUET, etc..
Also, many students start preparing for government jobs (Sarkari Naukri) or competitive exams like SSC, Railways, NDA, etc., from Class 11 or 12 itself. So it is good to make a plan early.
Parents should support their children and help them choose the right path. Don’t put pressure. Every student is different, and success comes with time and hard work.
